As compared to brick walls, the advantage of gabions is the low maintenance required compared to brick walls. Gabions are also cost effective and stable. In addition, the natural look is great for creative landscaping. However, a disadvantage would be the cost of assembling gabion walls, due to the skill and machinery required to lift heavy sections.
